Since 1999, the Brazilian Chamber’s flagship event, the Gala Dinner and Personality of the Year Awards, has been the networking, informative and celebratory event of the year for anyone involved or interested in trade and investment ties between Brazil and the United Kingdom. With Cop 30 and the Earthshot Prize both taking place in Brazil in this, the 200th anniversary year of diplomatic relations between the two countries, our event is even more special this year. And we’re marking that with a unique bicentenary approach to our awardees: not this year to individuals, but to two companies who are at the forefront globally of the energy transition: Shell and Raizen. Cristiano Pinto da Costa, Shell Brasil’s CEO, and Claudio de Oliveira, Vice-President of Institutional Relations and Sustainability at Raizen, will represent their companies and we will of course hear from them about achievements, developments and ambitions.

In keeping with this theme, our keynote speaker will be Jennifer Jordan-Saifi, CEO of the Sustainable Markets Initiative (SMI), a global organisation that mobilises the private sector to put sustainability at the heart of global value creation. His Majesty King Charles III, a champion of sustainability for more than 50 years, launched SMI in 2020 when he was Prince of Wales. This will be a privileged opportunity to hear from an inspirational leader living right at the heart of the most important topic around the world.

Taking place in Drapers' Hall, one of the most select and stunning of the historic livery company halls in the City of London that has been on site since 1543, this occasion offers a unique opportunity to engage with industry leaders, business associates and friends – and serves as a key platform for every company in this field.
