The Brazilian Nature Based Solutions and Carbon Finance event, organised by the Financial Services Committee of the Brazilian Chamber in collaboration with Gunnercooke LLP, took place on Wednesday, 3rd of July.
The event started with a warm welcome from Gunnercooke's Herman Santiago and was followed by an introduction on Nature Based Solution by Simon Davies (Head of Financial Services Committee at the Chamber Brazilian, International Advisor at Redirection International and Managing Director of Oxxy2), who also welcomed guests on behalf of the Brazilian Chamber.
This was followed by presentations from Alex Comninos (Co-founder and CEO - Nature Hub Brazil) on "Demystifying entrepreneurship in the Brazilian NBS space", Pedro Soares (Carbon Portfolio Manager Hartree Partners) on "Improving the voluntary carbon market through domestic carbon regulation – is this the way forward?" and Henry Waite (CEO and Founder - KUMO) on "Kumo is a provider of carbon banking solutions which leverage blockchain and tokenization to derisk lending in the carbon market". After the presentations, the audience engaged with the speakers in a lively Q&A session.
