GDPR - A Pragmatic Approach

Why May 2018 is just the beginning not the end for GDPR:

The Brazilian Chamber will take a pragmatic look at the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which will finally come into force on the 25th May 2018.

In reality, this date represents just the start of a long compliance journey that underpins the digital transformation of our respective businesses and indeed our lives.  Despite the rhetoric surrounding GDPR, how can you be sure that your business is prepared; or at the very least heading in the right direction to safe guard your data?  This breakfast seminar aims to share some practical views and learning that will enable you to evaluate where you are on the ‘GDPR Maturity Curve’ and what processors and tools you could adopt to help you.

GDPR - building the shield and making it stick

With only a few weeks to go until GDPR is in force, how do you practically implement all the requirements of GDPR? What can you get done by May 25th, and what does the post May plan look like? It's all important - but how do you work out what's the most important? And how do you make sure your employees and contractors are not your achilles heel? - their behaviours and data handling practices are critical in avoiding data breaches.

Simon Moore is a lifelong security person, having worked on national communications networks, and Satellite systems in the Royal Air Force, where he used early artificial intelligence systems to design a fault tolerant routing system where faults were anticipated to be caused by old fashioned kinetic effect rather than Cyber effect.   Now he works more in the information domain in a business that spans consulting through to event monitoring.  He sees the future as one of constant change where the sharpest innovators are the bad guys, and breaches and successful attacks have to be assumed when designing your ICT systems.  Where we have to defend in depth and breadth, and at minimal cost.  He and the Hivelogic team are aiming to make the future accessible, understandable, and demystified.  An aim that is funded through digital transformation rather than seeking new money.
